The Worst Blogger in the History of Ever

Well hello there. Long time, no see. And Happy Hump Day!

So I suck at blogging regularly. I really need to create a blogging schedule. Do people do that? Is that normal? I need to get on it.

Roo is taking a nap right now (for who knows how long. 40 minutes? 4 hours? That girl is unpredictable) so I am taking advantage of the clean laundry, kitchen and dishes to write a bit. Woo!

I am now 10 days out from the Pittsburgh Half Marathon and all I can say is Surprised smile. I have one 10-miler, one 11-miler and one 15-mile run under my belt and am aiming to do 16ish-18ish this weekend. I know, I know, I should be tapering for the half, but I’m mainly training for Hatfield McCoy in June so Pittsburgh is just going to be another training run (with 5 additional miles afterward. I hope).

I’m running 3 days a week: short run on Monday, medium run on Wednesday, long run on Saturday. Or that’s what it’s supposed to be. Between drives back to Reading, Riley and other rando scheduling conflicts (including but not limited to stomach apprehension and flat-out lack of motivation) training has been spotty at best, but I’m pushing through and hoping for the best.

BUT, I ran 5 miles on Monday night and it felt too short even though it was what I had scheduled. And it was faster than my usual pace, despite being 80 degrees. So I am making progress. I recognize that I am not going to be setting any records, but just covering the distances and getting outside in this GORGEOUS weather is exhilarating.

Of course some runs are still on the treadmill. Like my 15-miler on two treadmills (I drove to the gym for the last 5).

Some short weekday runs I do with my little cheerleader. She enjoys laying there and playing with her toys or napping. And don’t worry, I kept an eye on her and chatted with her- I didn’t just watch the tv. Dave was also home, so he was playing with her, too.

I’ve also joined St. Clair Fitness and restarted BodyFlow after a two-year hiatus and oh-em-gee it is AMAZING. I missed it so. I neeeeeeded it. It’s great cross training.

That’s all I have for you today. I need to start taking more workout photos so I don’t have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for phone photos. But until then, here is my sweet little Roo. She is cuter than any workout shot I could ever take.
